DC gets an another bing snowstorm and Drew tells Doug, whatever you do, don’t connect through DC! Guess what Doug does? We got a chance to meet up and Doug got to see Drew’s deice operation in person. Our first topic is one we both are experts at - airline seats. With narrow-bodies doing more international routes, a new “Butterfly” seat, which converts from 2 standard domestic first seats to 1 international lie-flat seat, may be the answer. We also discuss:

  • Airlines panic about the introduction of 5G in the US and its possible affects

  • The pandemic is becoming an endemic and will still weigh on airline profits

  • An idea for resolving the airline pilot shortage - raise the maximum age to 75

  • European airlines say that they are flying empty planes to maintain slots. Is it true?

We end with another airine and wine piece, this time with a New Zealand airline started by a winery. A Saab 340 regional airline that’s focused on a beverage? We have concerns!
