Doug and Drew comiserate with each other and travelers after a rough week at the airlines. We talk about what happened with the weather and ATC and the difficulties of recovering after hundreds of planes and thousands of crewmembers are displaced. We also discuss:

  • Let’s stop calling it revenge travel - its just travel, and its growing

  • Mexican airlines are ready to expand as soon as the FAA lifts Mexico back to a Category 1 status. Volaris has several routes planned and Viva Aerobus is expected to order 100 Airbus aircraft.

  • The cause of a ramp worker engine ingestion fatality last week was, sadly, confimed to be suicide

  • A DOT Inspector General audit confirrmed that the FAA is understaffed and lacks a plan to address the challenge

  • A Delta 717 had a gear up landing. Doug tells us how pilots are trained to handle these situations

We end the show with our first Google Voice message from abroad with a comment from Mark in Calgary, Canada.
