Episode 101 - Avgeek Bonanza
Aired on November 1, 2021
Come along with Doug and Drew on a 26-hour avgeek marathon trip from San Francisco (Burlingame) to New York (Elizabeth) and back. We're celebrating getting to 100 episodes last week with a widebody transcon, premium economy, a great walk and brunch in NYC, airline lounges, and domestic first class. We tape on our trip so enjoy background lounge and engine noises and listen to us staying high energy with little sleep.
On the trip we discuss:
Both our airline careers starting at SFO. #Airline101
The 777-300 and if the 777-8X should have been launched as its successor before the 777-9X
Doug talks about landing in high winds after a sporty 777 touchdown at EWR
We discuss whether the A220-300 with 130 seats is an A319 killer
Drew is impressed by the expansion of SLC and reminisces about his first flights here, connecting from a 767 to an L1011 Tristar
We wrap up thanking you for coming along for the ride and getting us past 100 episodes!
